The involvement of God in the lives of His children is not limited to just a few exceptional and famous individuals. Every ordinary run-of-the mill believer must experience His power. If we have not experienced His power we are not His children. Acts 14:15: And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein: James 5:17: Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. Three important and miraculous aspects of the power of God are the power to make us His children, the power to keep us and the power to change our lives and attitudes and behavior. A changed life is an important facet of salvation. A big difference between unbelievers and believers is that God is wonderfully involved in the lives of believers. A life with God in it will be an ongoing miracle and miracle after miracle. John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 1 Peter 1:5: Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Romans 6:4: Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Charles Haddon Spurgeon devotional on Psalms 103:2b: . . . forget not all His benefits.
